Kitchen Magician was founded by Fred Davis over 40 years ago at a time when kitchen refacing was unheard of. Simply put, refacing just did not exist.

This transpired by Fred updating a friends kitchen, but instead of the traditional method of tearing out the entire kitchen and installing new cabinets, he had the idea of covering the existing cabinets and doors with a new skin to save money. After all, 75% of the job was already in place.

He did this by covering the cabinets and the existing doors with a laminate. It turned out great and his friend was very pleased. Word spread about this new method and Fred found himself in a new business! He quit his job as a cabinet maker and launched a new industry, "Kitchen Cabinet Refacing".

The name "Kitchen Magician" came about early in his refacing days when, after completing one of his jobs, a particularly pleased customer said: "Fred, you are a real magician!"

As industry leaders typically do, Fred experimented with different materials, methods and practices, the outcome is the standard used today by all of the new refacing companies. Kitchen Magician has been and continues to be at the fore front of the refacing business.
